This process originally began with the idea of decay and destruction but since has evolved to a more personally connected experimental form of collage. I have begun to layer imagery both personal and iconic among papers, resins, and polyurethanes. This imagery plays a key role in the process that causes me to become connected to the work in a way that is now essential to the growth of the painting and my own growth as an artist. This connection dictates the piece as a whole and how it is developed. The combination of glossy, satin and matte finishes are essential to the composition in which every part is carefully considered. Abstract forms and lines, recognizable and ambiguous make their way in and out of the collages.
